In an atmosphere of economic crisis and budget austerity, the government is sending inspectors to all the public transport stations in the country to evaluate their efficiency and profitability. Harry is going crazy, convinced that any one of the passengers that occasionally pass through his station may be the Government Inspector coming to close his station.




The show takes us on a vibrant, comical, musical, as well as educational journey through London, its history and its most emblematic places.

THE BEEFEATERS


Since 1845, the beefeaters are ceremonials guardians of the tower of London.
Their function is to guard the prisioners and the Crown Jewels of the UK.
At the present, they are tour guides of the tower.
There are 35 guards and one boss.

There's a great Flash-based pronunciation resource on the Cambridge ELT site. The four sections cover the following areas:


  • Diphthongs - mini movies to practise reading and saying all the diphthongs in English.
  • Stress - word stress and sentence stress.
  • Intonation.
  • Phonemic chart - hear the English phonemes spoken by a male or female voice

is a fantastic free resource for learning about phonetics from Cambridge English Online. Using a collection of Flash-based games (the hangman, pelmanisms, puzzles, quizzes, mazes...) you will improve your ability to recognize and produce the various sounds of English and associate them with their phonetic symbols. The BBC Learning English Pronunciation Tips site is another wonderful resource. The site features videos on all the sounds of English as well as Flash-based interactive activities and quizzes. All the videos can be downloaded along with posters giving examples of each sound. You can also listen to three radio programmes from 2005 on the topic of pronunciation. The full script and audio examples are available to download.
